IRTEC Heavy Trailer MOT Inspection Technician Accreditation

A study and appreciation of the Road Legal criteria for road-worthiness and best inspection practices. Ensuring robust inspection techniques are used to identify issues in their infancy and rectify long before safety is compromised. Understand the importance of defect reporting and be confident in sourcing the right information at the right time in a swift manner. Achieve a fundamental understanding of an Operators License and the criteria involved in maintaining one. Build your confidence as an Inspection Technician. Relevant Course material provided and to be kept by each delegate.


The minimum entry requirement is 3 years industrial experience OR a Level 3 S/NVQ (or equivalent qualification) plus at least one year’s experience in a relevant industrial environment. The technician must be able to work unsupervised and ideally be in full time employment to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques associated with vehicle inspection.


The candidate will need to demonstrate the correct inspection methods and use the appropriate equipment and information when making judgements on the serviceability of vehicle systems and components.


A 2 day course is available for the above accreditations. This is subject to further costings, which are dependent on geographical locations.
